Writing Challenge: Camp NaNoWriMo

For the past x years each November I have sat down to write a novel in a month. It’s part of the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge held every November. No, you do not get a prize. No, you don’t even have to finish the novel as long as it is 50,000 words. But, yes, it is mind numbing and stressful and you do disappear from social events for that month. ::sniff:: Man I love NaNoWriMo. Anyways, I just discovered that they started a Camp NaNoWriMo. The August session just started and I strongly encourage you to check it out and maybe give it a whirl? I know I’ll be trying! And you get points for just even trying! (but the points don’t matter, hehe)

No you don’t have to be a professional writer… or even a good writer. The point of the exercise is to just let yourself write without your inner editor/perfectionist getting in the way.  An exercise in word-vomit. Oh what an image.  Anyways, make a profile and friend me! Even if you don’t do the August challenge, November is right around the corner…

  1. Hmm, I’ll think about it. I have to work on my book SOME TIME, after all.
